MOBILITY OPTIONS

         Through bilateral agreements

The University of Sarajevo maintains cooperation with many higher education institutions around the world through bilateral agreements (memoranda of understanding), which, among other things, enable the exchange of students and university staff. These signed agreements often provide administrative and tuition‑fee facilitation for study periods of up to one semester, while travel and accommodation costs must be covered by the participant (unless financial support is agreed in the agreement). Bilateral agreements at the University of Sarajevo and Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security Studies enable exchange and other forms of international cooperation

         Erasmus+ Mobility

Following a decision of the Senate of the University of Sarajevo, member institutions (faculties) are authorised to sign Erasmus+ KA171 inter-institutional agreements independently, provided that the cooperation is exclusively related to activities within the respective faculty. This includes, for example, staff or student mobility linked to specific study programmes.

As Bosnia and Herzegovina is a partner country in the Erasmus+ programme, KA171 agreements with partner institutions from programme countries (EU) must be initiated through the partner institution. In practice, this means that a partner institution includes our Faculty as a partner in its KA171 project application submitted to the national Erasmus+ agency in their country.

In addition, the Faculty actively participates in Erasmus+ calls published by the Office for International Cooperation of the University of Sarajevo (UNSA), in accordance with agreements signed at the university level. This enables the Faculty to further develop international partnerships, promote academic and professional exchange, and provide students and staff with enhanced opportunities for study, teaching, and professional development abroad under the Erasmus+ programme.

The list of active agreements through which the University of Sarajevo cooperates under the Erasmus+ program is available at:

For more information on Erasmus+ KA171 mobility, eligibility criteria, and application procedures, students and staff can contact the Vice Dean for International Cooperation

       CEEPUS

The Central European Exchange Programme for University Studies (CEEPUS) is a Central European program for the exchange of students and professors. This program enables the mobility of students and university professors with the primary goal of improving education at universities. The CEEPUS program is coordinated at member institutions/sub-organizational units of the university. More information is available at: https://international.unsa.ba/ceepus/

         EUPeace

The University of Sarajevo became part of the European university initiative called EUPeace (European University for Peace, Justice, and Inclusive Societies). The EUPeace alliance/network focuses on increasing the effects of internationalization under the prefix of nurturing a peaceful, just and inclusive European society, at different levels. In this way, our University continues the long-standing tradition of inter-university cooperation for the development of a culture of dialogue and the promotion of peace.

          AS A FREEMOVER

When the University of Sarajevo or the Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security Studies does not have a signed cooperation agreement with a foreign institution, students can contact the Faculty directly if they wish to participate in a mobility program and obtain information about their stay. Since there is no formal agreement, the conditions of such mobility are not regulated, so students arrange the procedure themselves. It is possible that certain study fees may apply, in addition to the expected travel and living expenses.

Although there is no official agreement, it is expected that the student is nominated (supported) by their home institution as a form of support and confirmation of their student status. When a foreign student contacts us to attend for one or two semesters, the decision on whether they can be hosted is made by the Faculty.
